• I run multiple WordPress sites and recently, a handful of them are having an issue updating plugins. This is the error I receive:

An error occurred while updating XYZ Plugin: Could not remove the old plugin.

All of my sites are hosted on the same hosting package with GoDaddy, but only a few of them are giving me this problem. I’ve talked to GoDaddy and they said everything is fine on their end.

Why would I be experiencing this issue? Is there a fix? Or at least a work around?

  • I just posted about the same issue with one of my clients sites. It’s also hosted on Go Daddy.

Go Daddy always says everything is fine on their end, at least in my experience with them. Although it seems that quite often, it is them.

Please let me know if you find a resolution and I will do the same.

    Kelly
