Updating permalinks in plugin activation function

Hi,

I’ve searched through documentation and forum posts for this, but i can’t find the answer anywhere.

I want a plugin activation function to update permalinks when the plugin is activated (i.e., equivalent to clicking the “Save Changes” button on the “Permalink Settings” page). Can someone tell me what function you use to do this?
