I’ve been trying to update the OG image of a single custom post, but when I save the post, it sticks for about 15 minutes, and then it reverts back to the default OG image. It’s been doing this for a while now and I can’t shake it.

    Hi @guerrilladigital,

Would you mind sharing the URL of the page where you are facing this issue? Could you also check and let me know what Image Source you’ve set in AIOSEO Settings for this specific Page?

For your reference, here is our documentation on this –

here’s the URL of the page in question.

www dot eversana dot com /insights/leveraging-salesforce-marketing-cloud-personalization-to-power-the-next-generation-rep/

(I wrote it like that so it doesn’t link to the site and show up in their analytics.)

I’ve been attempting to use the “Custom Image” as image source. It sticks for a little while, but then somehow reverts and I don’t know why. I also noticed that when updating / saving the page, it does not show up as a page revision. (I’m not sure if it should, but it seems like it should)

    Hi @guerrilladigital,

You will not see a new revision for your Post or Page if you only change the AIOSEO Settings.

Can you please check and let me know if you’re facing this issue only with this specific page or with some other pages as well? Is it just the Open Graph image that changes, or do all other settings revert to their defaults?

Can you also tell me if you’re the only one with permission to edit this Post/Page and if you’re using a backup or staging plugin?

    Hi @guerrilladigital,

We haven’t heard back from you in a couple of days. I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!

This issue also happens on new pages as well.

Other folks can edit this post / page, and we are using WP Migrate Pro from time to time.

This server is running MariaDB 10.0.x. Could it be because we’re not running MariaDB 10.3 or greater?

    Hi @guerrilladigital,

If you’re using a migration plugin to move your data from staging to production or from one site to another, it’s possible that your saved image is being overwritten.

Could you try temporarily disabling that plugin to see if that resolves the issue?

    Thread Starter guerrilladigital

    (@guerrilladigital)

Oh, we never migrate data to Production. We only pull data down to local or to staging. I just found out we’re still experiencing this issue on Production.

For what it’s worth, I turned off EVERY plugin that wasn’t AIOSEO and it still would not save the OG image.
