Each time we update inventory on a stand alone product, a new non-breaking space is added to the main and short product descriptions. This drives the add to cart button far down on the page and creates much unwanted white space. We don’t use product blocks and are unsure how to prevent this from happening each time we update inventory. We use WC version 8.3.1 and did not experience this problem in prior versions.

Edit: This problem appears to exist only when changes are made with the visual editor active. If the product page being edited is set to “text” for the product description and product short description, the unwanted non-breaking spaces are not being added.

    Hi @captaincrank

Each time we update inventory on a stand alone product, a new non-breaking space is added to the main and short product descriptions.

This sounds like an unexpected behavior, and I’ve never seen a circumstance where a non-breaking space was added when changing product inventory.

Are you able to send a screenshot or record a screencast so that we can see exactly what is going on?

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, here are a few free options:

For screencasts you can try this tool:?https://www.loom.com/.

We look forward to hearing back from you on this!

I tried a chat in WC account, but nobody responded. Hopefully they get the full text where I referenced this thread and provided a link to the video.

Using the visual editor, each time the product page is saved a new non breaking space is added. We usually only modify the product pages to update inventory, which is why this post title referenced updating inventory.

    Hey @captaincrank,

It looks like you may have you reached out internally for further help with this issue, correct?

In the meantime, we’d be happy to take a closer look at the issue here. Feel free to share a link to the screen recording so that we can have a better understanding of the exact behavior you are experiencing on your end.

Also, please share a copy of your sites System Status Report so that we can better understand your sites current environment. You can find this via WooCommerce?→?Status.

Select?Get system report?and then?Download for Support. This will download a TXT file that has the contents of the SSR which you can then share with us here.

    Cheers!

Thanks for your response. Internal support at WC has the system report and login details for a staging copy to replicate the problem with all plugins disabled. I’ll mark this thread as resolved since it’s being handled outside of this forum. Thanks for your help and happy holidays!

    Hey @captaincrank,

    Thanks for the update!

Glad to hear that our Happiness Engineers are on it ??

Since this has been marked as resolved, feel free to create a new topic if you need any further help.

Also, if you have a minute, we’d love it if you could leave us a review:
