Updating header/footer does not update pages?

    I created a header and footer with this plugin. Tricky to figure out how to get them to actually work, but I got it. Created a new page – great, the header and footer show up. Modified the footer, and looked at the page – still the old footer. I expect that when I modify a header or footer, the changed version should automatically appear on every page.

    Is this how the plugin is supposed to work? If so, it’s useless – I can just make header and footer templates in Elementor and get the same effect. Or am I doing something wrong?

    Hello @bbermack,

    When you update the header/footer It should update throughout the site, you don’t need to set anything else after that.

    Can you check if you have any caching in place on your site?

    Actually, I just created a new page and tested again on that page, and it did work. I could have sworn the page I tested it on before was also new, but maybe I’d put the header and footer there manually (from regular Elementor templates – which also should update, but clearly don’t).

    So, it looks like this was my goof after all. I’ll let you know if I have further trouble.

    I am not sure I understand the question correctly, @bbermack. This plugin adds header/footer globally throughout the site. Can you check if you are using Elementor’s Canvas template on any of the previously created pages?

    If canvas template is used the header and footer will not be displayed on those pages.
