    Hi folks,
I see a few post with the same issue as this. But wanted to create my own post so i do not hijack other’s post.

Essentially, we updated from 3.7.0 to 4.1.0.2 due to a vulnerability reported in versions < 4.1.0.2.

However, we’re getting reports that there are pages that have lost the Description meta content. The home page, being one of the pages out of many. In the admin, we see “#description” in the place of where our description content used to be.

In looking at the raw db, i see a lot of references similar to this:
    (167699377,283093,’_aioseo_description’,’#description’)

Is the description content gone for good? If it isnt, is there a patch fix for this issue? How do we fix this without rolling back the db. We have a lot of pages and content and things are constantly changing, so rolling back would mean a big loss.

    Thanks, let me know.

    Hey @ilovecake,

Do you mind contacting us here – https://aioseo.com/contact/. You can click the “Complete a Form” button and reference this support thread.

At first glance, it looks like something went wrong either during the update from v3 to v4 or that you were using v3 somewhat incorrectly, but it still worked. Unfortunately the previous version of the plugin was built in such a complex way that a lot things worked in ways we never intended it to work (if that makes sense). We addressed these issues in the new version, which is why some odd use cases break after updating.

Either way, I’m quite confident that we can get this sorted for you.

So strangely, our problem is no longer a problem. And we did not do anything to fix it. Could it be possible that it just took AIOSEO more than a week to complete whatever backend process it needed after the plugin upgrade? We have a very large site (>1GB db)?

@ilovecake that is definitely possible; the migration runs in the background and takes a while to complete. It runs rather slowly because we did not want to affect the site’s performance.
