Updating from Pro to Pro (sounds funny I know)

I bought the PRO version after testing the LIGHT version quite a long time ago (Version 1.4.7 running atm). Unfortunately the updating never worked as I get no permission to do so. Besides this fact, which is a bit annoying I want to know if I buy the PRO plug-in again, how can I update it without harming my database?
