We’re receiving an ‘Updating failed’ message when trying to update/save content after installing Trusona on a user account. Same issue on all types of content (pages, posts, custom post types), it’s not possible to make any edits to content.

If I login in with another user account not using Trusona they can update content without a problem.

To fix: After deactivating and deleting the plugin, logging out, then logging in again, functionality returns to normal on the user account that was using Trusona. Have tested multiple times, and it seems directly linked to the plugin.

WordPress 5.2.2, hosted on WP Engine. Can’t see any relevant errors in error logs.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are going to look into this issue and get back to you soon.

We have set up a WordPress installation on WP Engine and are testing WordPress with the Trusona app. We have not yet been able to replicate the issue.

Are the users who are experiencing this issue users who created their account through the self service account creation feature within the Trusona Plugin?

Another way of asking the question above:
Did those user accounts get created by scanning the Trusona’s secure QR code?

    Thanks for the follow up.

The WordPress User Account already existed in the WordPress Database, but yes I believe Trusona was setup by following the steps in the plugin and scanning the QR code as you describe.

To clarify your previous question, no the ‘Self-Service Account Creation’ feature remained unticked in the Trusona plugin and the WordPress user account was not created this way, the WordPress account already existed.

I have just tried setting up a fresh WordPress admin user account with a separate email address which I have then added/verified through the Trusona App and used to log in, but have the same issue through this account also.

If you would like to get in touch through the our website (93digital.co.uk) I’d be happy to help you troubleshoot and provide access to our site.

Thank you for you time and willingness to help troubleshoot the issue you are experiencing. I will email you privately and set up a time to get this resolved.
