• Hi

I tried my WP first using XAMPP on my localhost and all worked very well. I then installed on my server space with a clean install.

Whenever I insert an image or a short code in a post all seems fine until I press the update button. It then inserts a series of \ ‘s into the code resulting in nothing showing up. The more I press update the more it adds \’s into the code.

I have asked different people to log in from different sites and PC’s and all experience the same problem. I tried deleting everything including the databse tables and re-installed using a different database prefix and still have the same problem. It matters not whether I am using the HTML or Visual Editor … the result is the same.

Anyone had a similar issue or know of a plan ?

    Thx in advance

  • i am no expert on this… but what happens when you click on the ‘preview’ button before hitting the ‘update’?

if the preview shows fine, i would say it is something wrong on your ‘index.php’ , because the preview uses the ‘single.php’ page.

    give it a try.

    Thx Agnes

Nothing shows in the preview either. I can see the image or the code in the visual editor but it diappears in the preview and when I press update… leaving only the original code with a whole lot of \\’s !
