updates “batting order”?

    Is there a right versus wrong order to update apps/scripts in WP? For example, my WordPress dashboard has updates ready for the full WP platform (to version 5.3), my theme, and half of my plugins. Should I update the WP first, then the theme, then the plugins? or, reverse-order? or, does the order of updates even matter?
