    Good News!

Due to increasing commitments to my church and other Christian ministries, I’ve not been able to develop SermonBrowser as we would all want.

The good news is a new developer is already working on bringing SermonBrowser back to the WordPress repository, and we’ll soon have news of SermonBrowser’s future. It’s one I’m excited about, and I can’t wait to be able to tell you.

So excited! Thanks for the update!

GREAT! Really need to fix the FLASH issues …
One now with the latest WP update on CHROME browsers and other on all mobile devices (cannot see MP3 player), that’s been for a long time now since FLASH is no longer supported.

    Thanks Mark, much appreciated ??

thanks for the update. Enjoy using this plugin.

Sounds great! Can you please provide a date when we can expect it to be released? Thank you!

Great news, Mark! This is still the most fully-featured sermon plugin around.

If you’re new developer is interested, I’ve got some PHP code that parses any kind of Bible reference and stores it in a MySQL table to be retrieved for a sermon library. It’s being used at evangelium21.net. I’m very happy to share it with him to use it in sermon-browser. It would allow filtering not only for Bible books but also chapters and verses.

WordFence is reporting a vunerability in the latest version. i’m considering replacing SermonBrowser as I cannot risk my sites being compromised. Can anyone elaborate on this being addresses soon?

Mark: How is the integration with the other plugin coming along?

    Hey @bhosting,

I’ll give you an update from our end. We’re a few days from releasing an update to Sermon Manager which comes with importing features from Sermon Browser.

With saying that, it won’t be able to migrate across absolutely everything from Sermon Browser to begin with since we’re still integrating some features into Sermon Manager that we agreed to with Mark.

If you use just the basic fields, namely:

    Speaker
    Message Title
    Sermon Series
    Date
    Scripture passage
    Message audio URL
    Service Type

Then our importing feature will work for you. If you use any other Sermon Browser specific features however, that info won’t be migrated at this stage, but we will add more functionality.

We’re hoping to make this release today or tomorrow!

@wpforchurch will you post here when that update is ready? I’ve just checked the plugin page and the last update was 4 weeks ago. Eagerly anticipating this! Thank you.

    Hey @jsonfry,

    Yeah sure will ??

We’ll post an update here as soon as it’s ready to go. It will be released this week!

    Thanks,
    Igor

    Hi @wpforchurch,
Any news on the update? I’m developing a site and would love to continue using this plugin, but I’m really looking forward to the updated version. Thank you and God Bless!

    Hey @barellano,

We had some unforeseen circumstances on our end, so we are sorry about the delays. The migrations features are almost complete, a couple more days and 2.9 will be released which will include importing from Sermon Browser.

It will work in 2 ways to cover 2 scenarios:

    1. For people who install Sermon Manager in a WordPress instance they have Sermon Browser running on, they can simply press a button for the migration to occur.

    2. For those migrating to a new website, they will be able to install a plugin we will provide which will establish the necessary connection between the existing website running Sermon Browser and the new one running Sermon Manager and then facilitate that migration for you.

Both methods will be super easy to use.

Thanks for your patience, we’re almost there!

    Regards,
    Igor

Looking forward to the new release as well as I have a winter website redesign to do and would love to clean up the Sermon Browser display a bit in that process.

    Thanks for your continued development!
