Update/re-install failures

    I have been having problems with reinstalling WP via the Updates function, and in updating themes and plugins: they all lead to an error window “This webpage is not available”. Sometimes the site subsequently goes into maintenance mode for a while. The Theme and Plugin updates usually seem to have worked anyway – but not the WP reinstall.

    I have
    – disabled all plugins;
    – manually reinstalled WP;
    – checked my database tables;
    – re-made the wp-config.php file.

    No change after any or all of these operations.

    I am using the Responsive Pro theme.

    Help!

  • Have you tried checking your site’s error logs for messages? Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs. Have you spoken to your hosts about these issues? It sounds like an issue with your server.
