  • Same problem, had to re-create categories and reassign to posts. Post in categories showing, however the accordion is not functioning on click.

    Same here, all the categories have to copied from the default WP categories to the SP FAQ categories and reasigned to the posts.

    The questions are not opening due to a jQuery error.
    For now we are switching back to the previous 3.1.1 version.

    Exact same symptoms here. All functions of the FAQ on the front end have stopped displaying with the updated version. I just assumed it was a plugin conflict, but I’ve deactivated all my other plugins and the FAQs are still not working.

    It seems to be a jQuery issue.

    We rolled back the version to 3.1.1, and everything is working again.

    Hello,

    Now we have created custom category section for FAQ for better experience. After update now you need to recreate all your faq category under Faq–> FAQ category and reading them to FAQ posts.

    You can use here category short code.

    What should be done about the original category? The count assigned to it no longer links to anything.

    Is this a corruption of something in the DB?

    What if you had posts assigned to that category too? How do you fix the count?

    And what about the Javascript error? That still exists.

    I ran into this issue today.

    My solution was this:
    – Create a backup point for today
    – Restore to a backup before the updated plugin
    – Export the FAQ (under the Tools)
    – Restore to the most current backup
    – Import the FAQs

    This will create the categories again, but it will change the category IDs. You will need to update the shortcodes, but that is easier than recreating the categories and linking up the FAQs to the categories.

    Just FYI, upgraded WordPress to version 4.5 and sp-faq to latest version 3.2.3, and this problem happened again. This is the second time I encountered the problem after the first time happened when I upgraded sp-faq from version 3.1.1 to version 3.2.1.

    The solution is to recreate the FAQ categories, re-categorize all FAQ pages and modify the FAQ page with the new FAQ category shortcode numbers. Those who has many FAQ pages might find this very tedious.

    Hoping to have permanent solution so that this problem will not happen again every time we do upgrade.

    In our latest update we have added custom category section in FAQ plugin. So once you update the plugin just create all categories again in FAQ category section and assign all FAQ post to respective categories.

    Yes we test all our plugins (With latest update) with multiple FREE and PRO themes

    So if a website have 50+ faq questions, we have to manually move them one by one to the right new category?
    If so, that would be a pity..

    Its a one time job for who were using last version. Its hardly 15mins job to assign all FAQ post to the categories.

    In the next update you no need to think about this.
