We updated to Version 5.2.2 and Geolocation still not working. Are there additional steps beyond updating to Version 5.2.2?

    Hi @soolee

This issue is due to an incomplete download of the GeoIP file.

To resolve this problem, please go to Slimstat – Settings – Tracker and select “Use the JsDelivr” in the GeoIP Database Source field. Then click on Save Changes to save the settings.

After saving the settings, click on Check Database next to the GeoIP Database Source option to verify if there are any issues with GeoIP. If you encounter an error message, click on the Update Database button next to it. After updating the database, click on Check Database again to verify if GeoIP has been properly reloaded.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or need assistance.

That looks to have worked on our sites.

    Thanks Amir.

Sorry, but I’m still having the same problems with 5.2.2. I tried following the instructions above without success. Also tried reverting to Maxmind database and then back to JsDelivr again. Also tried toggling the ‘Enable CDN’ option. After each attempt I clicked ‘Update Database’, then ‘Check Database’. Still no success. I’ve now reverted the plugin back to version 5.1.5, which still works.

The update to Version 5.2.2 is not working for one of our sites. After selecting “Use the JsDelivr” in the GeoIP Database Source field, clicking Save Changes to save the settings, and clicking Check Database, we are taken back to the top of the page. Slimstat works but we do not get location information.

We reinstalled and still have the same problem.

    Please advise.

    Hi @learn2soarmusic @soolee

Your issue is likely due to cached JS files. Please clear your browser and site cache. Then, set the GeoIP Database Source field to ‘Use the JsDelivr’ and click ‘Save Changes’. After the page reloads, click on ‘Update Database’.

Additionally, we are actively working on resolving issues affecting some users and will soon release a new version to address them.

Thank you for your patience while we resolve this issue.

Sorry, but we don’t cache JS files at all. We’ve also tried clearing caches as you suggested. Makes no difference. It still doesn’t work, and we’ve once again reverted back to version 5.1.5.

You need to delete the old files on FTP (maxmind.mmdb or the new one named geo-ip). Don’t keep both in the same folder. After that, go to the settings and save. This will upload correct a new file and flags works.

We tried the above. It does not work. Only produces a critical error.

    Hi @learn2soarmusic

Please send us the error that is given to you. Also, after testing, please send us the error displayed in the Settings – Maintenance section under GeoIP Database Error for our review.
