• I upgraded my install of WPTouch Pro today to Version 3.8.7. After the upgrade, I noticed shortcodes from the plugin Meta Slider no longer load in my mobile theme.

The site in question is “gissler.com”. The issue can be observed in this post (or any other post in the “projects” menu): https://gissler.com/projects/west-end-avenue-apartment-nyc/

Instead of displaying the metaslider gallery, mobile visitors see the shortcode: [metaslider id=5201]. I have checked all the settings for WPTouch Pro, and it looks to be in order.

-In Theme settings, under “General,” I have enabled the “ml-slider” Custom Post Type.
-Under “Core Settings,” “Compatibility” I have enabled shortcode handling, with the radio option “Load content as output by desktop theme (you may need to load CSS/JavaScript)”
-Under “Choose which plugins are loaded for mobile requests,” the appropriate plugins are enabled.

I don’t see any console errors to suggest I need to load additional CSS/JS — is it possible WPTouch Pro has determined additional assets are needed and blocked loading the content?

I’m at a loss to troubleshoot this. I’ve reached out to support, but they say they are unable to log into my WordPress backend and are unable to help.

    Thanks!
    Glenn

  • Hi Glenn,

For all WPtouch Pro related questions, please submit a ticket via our Support Center – https://support.wptouch.com/helpdesk/tickets.

Also, update to the latest version of WPtouch Pro (3.8.8) and see if that helps make a difference, as it includes improvements for shortcode handling.

If shortcodes don’t show up right away, open a page with shortcodes in it, via the WordPress page editor and click the “Update” button without making any changes. Then, refresh the page in WPtouch Pro and see if that helps do the trick.

    Regards,

Thanks. The newest version (3.8.8) does seem to display shortcode content again.
