• The full error is:

The file ‘wp-config.php’ already exists. If you need to reset any of the configuration items in this file, please delete it first. You may try installing now.

What can I do here? I tried deleting the wp-config file but nothing changed on the error message.

    Help!

  • An update should not be trying to install a new version of the wp-config.php file. Are you doing a manual update, or was this done through the update process built into WordPress?

It sounds like you’re running the install program on a manual update.

    Hi Matt!

It was actually through the ‘update wordpress’ link when I was logged in as admin. WordPress was updating it itself without the need for me to download anything.

What version were you on and what were you updating to?
