    Hi, for some reason I can’t see the new editor for any of my 3 websites, for posts or pages (existing or newly created).

    Is there anything I have to do to get it working, or is it supposed to just happen?

    I do not have the Classic Editor plugin installed currently as my webhost has actually blocked it from their servers, so I’m not accidentally using it or anything.

    I have Divi theme installed on 2 of my sites, the 3rd uses the Sprout theme.

    So I don’t think it has anything to do with the theme?

    Also, when I do have access to the new editor on my websites, does this mean that all existing pages will be updated to use the new editor…? Especially seeing as I can’t revert back with the plugin.

  • This is weird, pls check the following in order:
    1) Do a re-install of WordPress core (Go to Dashboard > Updates > Re-install WordPress)
    2) Disable all plugins and check
    3) Switch theme and check

    Your old posts will use the new Gutenberg editor, however, the content will be placed inside a ‘Classic’ block – so you will be able to update it using the old tinyMCE editor.

    I tested your steps two of my sites (one with Divi theme and one with Sprout theme) and doing all that changed nothing… Still only seeing the old editor.

    I have contacted my webhost to see if it might be something to do with their servers? I can’t imagine how they could block the editor from showing without actually blocking the ability to update to the latest version of WordPress.

    Any other ideas of how to fix this or who I can contact?

    Nevermind, I have found that my webhost has installed a ‘must-use’ plugin called ‘disable gutenburg’ so I can’t use the new editor on their servers at this stage…
