Updated to 4.5 and Insert URL not working

The popup is not a modal dialog box anymore, it shows up inline with the text. That’s one of the new features of 4.5, the inline URL editing.

If you click on the gear icon in the inline popup, then you’ll get the old modal dialog again.

Such an ugly mess up. I usually add dozens of outside links to my articles. I now doubled the time to complete a story due to your 4.5 “update”! You guys always mess up everything and worst part about it is that you are extremely dictatorial!
You accept NO advises, no suggestions, nothing! You just think you know best and you do whatever you want. I am disgusted by WordPress by each and every single update!

Bring back the NORMAL link insertion dialogue! Who the hell finds this new BS useful??? Does anyone actually think this is an improvement?

I believe WordPress should hold POLLS from now on, on new features and hardcore changes. Make the polls show up everywhere and let the users VOTE if they like/want these changes or not.

I totally agree justatest47. It takes a lot of time for me too to add links to my articles. Sometimes I’m not even sure I added a link with this new inline thing. BRING back the old link insertion!

I don’t like the new design either. Luckily, TinyMCE Advanced has an option to use its own Link Dialog.

My main problem is that I always have to click on the gear icon to chose the New Window option with the current setup.
