Looks like the problem is from one hosting company… bluehost.com Here’s the server specs:
    cPanel 2.2.31
    Apache 2.2.31
    PHP 5.6.29
    MySQL 5.6.32
    Perl 5.10.1

Upgraded to lastest plugin 4.16.49 on a godaddy site and all works fine. Here’s GD server specs:
    PHP: 5.3.24
    WordPress: 4.7.1
    Plugin: 4.16.49

It’s not Bluehost, there are thousands or people using this Brute-Force on Bluehost without having this issue. The NO_JS error that you are getting indicates that something is blocking the JavaScript on your login page.

This protection is not in your .htaccess file, you can disable it in the firewall settings or by deactivating or deleting the plugin.

If you send me the error number I can help you more.

Not sure if the below is the error number. If not tell me where to find it. Thanks!

Ok, this is a different error than before. This NO_SESSION is is because your server was not able to create a persistent session. There may be a permission issue with the /tmp/ directory or the temp partition might be full or not writable. You’ll need to contact Bluehost support and ask them why session_start() doesn’t work, have then check the permissions and the temp file location. If they can fix that then the protection might work again. I noticed that you have already disabled the protection so I could not test it further, but for now it is in the hands of your server administrator…
