Updated Theme and Image removed

I’m guessing that you had modified the theme to add your logo into it?

If that’s the case then you’ll need to modify the updated theme again because when you update the theme, all of the changes are lost (thats why your logo is not there any more).

BUT…

I’d say do not update the new theme. Create a child theme and do the modifications in there. That way when the theme is updated next time you won’t loose the modifications that you’ve done.

Now that I have updated the old theme, is my logo still stored somewhere or do I need the original file and to upload it again?

maybe you can find it on folder
wp-content/uploads/ logo should be uploaded here search about it

and then reupload it to be your theme logo …

It depends on how it was uploaded to start with. If it was uploaed through the WordPress media system, then it will be somewhere in the wp-content/uploads/ folders. If it was uploaded using FTP it will probably be somewhere inside your theme folder. Be sure to check both places to see where it is. It should still be in one of them.

Thank you both I will look in those spots for it. I am new to wordpress so everything is taking me alittle longer than it should

I still can’t find it… It isn’t in the wp-content/uploads and I’m not exactly sure where to look for the theme folders. I looked all through the editor tab but still no luck

If you customised your theme and then updated it, your image will have been lost during the update. In future, make a child theme for your customisations.
