Updated the wording of a question, and now both versions get passed to SFDC

We made edits to the wording of a couple questions on a form tied to Salesforce. Some of the user submissions include the former wording as well as the new wording, as 2 separate questions, with no data associated with the former wording. This is NOT occurring for all of our submissions since the edits were made, it appears to be randomly occuring for some submissions.
The former wording does not exist in the form at all anymore, and it’s also not in the Salesforce Feed settings (since the new wording replaced it). Users don’t see the former wording, but somehow it gets passed to Salesforce with a blank entry associated, which messes up our scoring methods in salesforce.
What could be causing the former wording to continue to be passed to Salesforce?
