• hello,

I have updated php to version 5, and now I can’t use permalinks.

Is there any problem with php5 or I have to config something?

    Thanks!!

  • What version of WP are you running? 2.0.2 is the most current and, if I recall correctly, is the version you want for php5.

I’m using wordpress 2.0 in a Windows 2000 Server with IIS. Just updated from MySQL4 and PHP4 to MySQL5 and PHP5.

I was using date and name based permalinks but now when I click on a post I get an HTTP 404 error

    Sorry for my english…

    Thanks!!

I’ve just updated wordpress to 2.0.2 but the problem still remains…

Ok…There must be some change in PHP5 that causes the permalinks to quit functioning. I first got my heads up from a regular reader who said he couldn’t comment anymore. I also, while trying to se what was up with the tweaking I did last weekend, that permalinks didn’t function, either.

I dug for three days and when I read this thread, realized I had changed from PHP4 to PHP 5 last weekend via my hosting site. I switched back to PHP4 and instantly the permalinks and the comments were working properly.

Answer: Revert to PHP4 until 5 gets fixed….
