Updated PHP to 8.1 and getting a not a valid JSON response

    Hi –

    I just updated my PHP to 8.1 and still using wordpress 6.2.2. I created a story and when I went to save, I am getting this error: Failed to save the story: The response is not a valid JSON response.

    Hi there

    It sounds like WordPress or some other plugin might be throwing some PHP warnings or notices, which causes the response to not be valid JSON anymore.

    Before you start investigating, please upgrade to WordPress 6.4.1 which has better compatibility with 8.1.

    After that, I recommend checking your PHP error logs to find out more. You can also inspect REST API requests in the browser dev tools to find the culprit.

    hi- I’ve done some digging with my host to try and find the problem. It looks like it is the wordfence plugin that is throwing the error. I unfortunately can’t update to the latest WordPress because not all my plugins are compatible. Any other ideas?
