Updated featured image not displaying

Wordpress: 5.8.1
Jetpack: 10.1
Theme: GeneratePress v.3.0.4

I thought I’d give you a heads up about the following.

The new featured image isn’t shown at the frontend when changed.

1. Removed and permanently deleted old featured image.
2. Uploading new featured image (same file name and file format .webp)
3. Update the post.
4. The featured image doesn’t change.

The new featured image has a yellowish background.

I’ve tried the following.

* Clearing the browser cache.
* Refreshing the page.
* Use another browser.
* Use a default theme.

Disabling the Jetpack plugin and the new featured image is displayed as it should.

Enabling Jetpack and the old featured image is still displayed.
