• I had this widget looking and working exactly like I wanted. The update completely wiped it out and now I have to install yet another plugin to get the image size I want? Please consider releasing your “update” as completely new and different plugin . You can stop offering support for the old one and direct people to the new one, and this way peoepl who install the update won’t be surprised when their sidebar is completely hosed. Thanks

  • I agree. This “update” has ruined a great thing. I had zero problems with it and it was one of the few things I could “set and forget” on my site.

In addition, the entire interface is much less user friendly. In the previous version, sure, the “categories” and “tags” boxes could’ve used some improvement but at least it was intuitive and workable. This new version relies far too heavily on user know-how and supplemental documentation. In addition, the “thumbnail” is far too big right out of the box. The customizable option in the previous version was *perfect.*

I agree whole heartedly with the above post. This is not an update, this is an overhaul. It ought to be regarded as a completely different plugin. To your (the developer’s) credit, you already had one of the most hassle-free widgets I’ve had the pleasure of using, and now, like so many others, it’s become a bit too obfuscated.

Luckily, issues like this in the past have taught me to religiously back up my entire plugins directory. Looks like I’ll have to deal with my one more eternally pending plugin update, but that’s life.

    Hi,
Please forgive me for it, I know it’s bad to have a major update. Before releasing the major update I was actually think to release it as new plugin, but I was curious if it allowed on WPORG has two plugins with the same functionality.

I’ll bring back a old features such as category and tag and also I’ll add new features. Once again please forgive me for it ??

nb: if you have a feature request I’d love to realize it for you ??

I would STILL suggest keeping the two entities separate, but if you choose not to, what I would then suggest is having a simple check box or something in the “settings” for “Legacy Version” which would change everything back to the prior version.

As for the “categories” and “tags,” my only (albeit minor) complaint is that it lists them all, and then it’s up to me to choose which ones to include. In my case, this is a bit of a hassle, because I have to select them all and then DEselect the ones I don’t want to use, since I primarily use the plugin to display nearly ALL categories on my site and need to exclude only a few. But again, this is a minor grievance; the previous version was pretty much perfect!

Hi, have you tried the latest version? I just pushed new version a few hours ago.
