update / upload to region

Oh like you would like to replace all the meetings for a region with the contents of a CSV? If so, I’m not sure how best to implement that but it should be possible. All you really need to be able to do is delete the meetings in a region.

One thing I was discussing with someone today was the desire to have a way to repost the meetings from one WordPress / 12 Step Meeting List site on another one. For example to have several regions using the plugin, and then a main area, that stayed updated with the various regions automatically. These imported meetings would not be editable at the area level, changes would be pulled in periodically from the regions.

Would that be useful, or is the site you want to import not using the system?

I am researching how to put and maintain all of the state meetings and make them accessible through the main state website and mobile app. We have several areas that are not online so those specific ones will only be uploaded through the state website. Linking the web present areas and let each one handle their own would work perfectly for some areas. Not sure how that would effect the App.

Short of having multiple instances on the plugin or a dropdown box to limit, or predetermine, a restriction for the “delete all” checkbox it may be necessary to manually delete meetings in an area and uploading changes may be the only option.

I am left with the question of how will the app show the state as opposed to the individual cities.

Interesting. Well this sounds like a vote in favor of the “ability to repost another area’s meetings” feature. I can build it for you if that would help get Kentucky-wide coverage.

We would figure out a way so that the app could get the latest info without duplicates, either by syncing with the main site only, or syncing with the district sites individually.

It sounds like this is still in the planning stages, not a currently-pressing issue?

I’m actually going to be in Louisville for a conference arriving on the 26th and then leaving early in the morning of the 30th, if there were any interest in meeting up or having me talk to people at the Louisville Intergroup central office I’d be pleased to do that.
