    Small update:
we noticed there are issues with the page created by our plugin.

Please create a new page to your liking and add shortcode:
    [addosticket]

My appolegies for the inconvenience, we are working hard on fixing this issue.

    issue has been fixed
    Methods to change to shortcode:
    1) Go to pages –> Your OSTicket page and Change the current text to [addosticket]
    2) – Go to pages –> select your OSticket page and delete it.
    – Re-create the page by going to: Tickets –> osT-Config –> Landing page type in the name of your page and save.

    Hi Marco,

I just made a fresh install of osticket and wordpress with a themeforest theme to try in a development environment all before I show it to a costumer. All the installations are fresh.

I have some issues with your plugin since I put the shortcode in a page (I’ve tried to use the page that the settings creates, to create a new page, etc…) and nothing appears.

The theme can show other shortcodes from other plugins, like woocommerce, but for [addosticket] it dos not work.

Do you know what can happen ?

    THANKS!

    Hello,

So far i noticed issues with caching and the shortcode.
Most easy way to find out is:
    1) Login as user before loading the ticket page.(most caches don’t cache as user)
    2) Disable caching.

On monday we will check out whats causing the glitch with caching and the plugin.

However our Plugin should have no issues creating the page including the shortcode, can you please go to ost-Config and name it something like support or testticket ?

it should make the page entered (if it doesn’t i would recommend re-downloading the plugin)

    Regards,
    Marco

    Hi!,

Thanks for your super fast answer.

It’s strange, because it’s a clear new setup, I just have downloaded and install osticket and the plugin one hour ago.

I’ve tried creating different name pages (always different than the folder where I have osticket installed). Also is not cache because I’m changing other things in the page, as background or similar sidebars and it’s working. And also is not about being logged or not, because I’ve other pages that work only with logged users and are working fine.

I’m just trying the performance, but just let you know that is the same case as another guy was posting in the forum yesterday, and maybe is some bug or sth related.

I will follow trying it and I will inform you if I find the reason.

    THANKS!!!

I would still recommend checking the cache issue.
as we already identified that as a major issue with our development setup
for some reason with caching enabled our plugin page loads very odd
sometimes perfect, sometimes blank, sometimes with everything besides the ticket list etc.

(we are currently working on fixing that issue).

The way you create the page is by using the ost-Config? (you can enter the landing page name there –> it will create the page for you).

As far as where you put the actual OSTicket system it doesn’t matter where it’s put (can be anywhere) aslong as the DB settings are properly filled.

    Hi!

    Cache:

I’ve no cache activated. Anyway just in case I installed a plugin to clear cache and it was empty.:
    WP-Cache (0KB)

    0 Cached Pages
    0 Expired Pages
    WP-Super-Cache (0KB)

    0 Cached Pages
    0 Expired Pages

The way you create the page is by using the ost-Config? (you can enter the landing page name there –> it will create the page for you).
Yes. I did it this way.
Also, just in case, I’ve created a second page and put the shortcode, same result (not loading).

As far as where you put the actual OSTicket system it doesn’t matter where it’s put (can be anywhere) aslong as the DB settings are properly filled.
Fine! anyway I don’t think the problem is there, because in my wp-admin panel I can see the tickets of osticket.

    Thanks.

    Yeah..

Sounds like something is conflicting in your front page.
can you turn on debug mode for any more information?

    Hi,

I don’t know if its related, but in debug mode I can see this error in the page of the shortcode:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/inc/language-switcher.php:791) in /wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1121

Just thinking that can be related with WPML I deactivate the WPML plugin, but anyway I get this error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /wp-includes/class.wp-scripts.php:144) in /wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1121

If it’s something pure of the theme I’m using, don’t worry, I will work on it. I was just worried that the problem is related with your plugin, since other plugins like woocommerce that also use shortcodes are working fine.

    Thanks.

Just something that can be relevant.

If I go to your plugin settings, and I put it “offline”, the message works on the webpage:

Thank you for your interest in contacting us.

Our system is currently offline for maintenance, please check back later.

It shows the message well in the right part, so the shortcode is working.

But if I put it on again: nothing appears.

    (@mtiggelaar)

    Hmm

Well i think the “headers” already sent is the issue.
if you put it in offline mode do you still see that error?

    No.

In off-line mode there is no error.

    So, it’s a theme problem, right ?

    Plugin Author m.tiggelaar

    (@mtiggelaar)

    Looks like it.

On monday my developper will be back again i will ask if he knows how duplicate headers can be sent.

It is most likely also fixable from the plugin side (as i’m assuming other plugins you have work fine).

Dank u wel!! (I think you’re from NL, I’ve lived in Amsterdam for a year)

I’m just trying the performance of WP with OsTicket in a test environment for another project but I just think that this also can happen to other users with other themes, so maybe it’s useful for you to know it.

    tot ziens!

I’m indeed from NL ?? tho i moved to China about 3 years ago haha.

We can’t seem to find anything that causes this and we are also not able to reproduce it.
Do you mind providing us FTP / WP-admin access so we can take a look?

There must be a reason for it under a certain situation.

    Regards,
    Marco
