Update to 6.4 – Problematic DB Update

    Hello,

    Just upgraded to 6.4 in a shop that has over 10k products.

    The DB upgrade has been stuck for an hour or so in the following:

    ‘update_callback’ => ‘wc_update_640_add_primary_key_to_product_attributes_lookup_table’

    I do not know if this is due to the fact that I am using Index WP MySQL For Speed (that already adds keys for the attributes).

    Please advise.

    @paulostp Please bear in mind that for those 11132 products there are about 40 attributes (no I DID NOT designed this approach, I migrated most of the attributes to categories (the original installation was on Magento that I migrated to Woocommerce recently) but I keep them as the user experience transitions from filters to (sub) categories (in the header) as well because with WOOF I take statistics o

    f what the users click that help me understand better the business of my client.

    Thanks for sharing the System Status Report. Nothing in it that stands out as a problem.

    Could you please navigate to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and from the dropdown on the right side, please see if there are any logs starting with the words fatal-error? Hopefully, there will be some error messages here to help point us to what’s at the root of the problem. Please let us know what you find.

    Hi @dimitrisv,

    Looking at your system status it appears that your WC database was successfully updated.

    WC Database Version: 6.4.0

    Can you go to WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions and search for “product_attributes_lookup”? What’s the status you see now?

    I see no entry in the scheduled actions.

    Neither in completed nor in pending etc. Yet when I run the tool I am getting message that it has started.

    Upon checking the system status report it looks like there are pending actions still on the background.

    Pending: 661

    You can run the pending actions manually by going to WooCommerce > status > scheduled actions > pending which would need some time to allow them to be completed.

    You can also use a plugin like WP Crontrol to help you manage the pending actions:

    The pending actions are tons of WP Rocket Cache check actions.

    I also noticed that even the reports stopped working today… in the analytics section.

    I just noticed another message:

    Action Scheduler migration in progress. The list of scheduled actions may be incomplete.

    This may explain the mess after the upgrade.

    The number of pending jobs has exceeded 11000!!!

    However, the reports were working fine even after the upgrade yesterday- it seems to have stopped today.

Still, I noticed that right now the domain is using the Cloudflare NS records:

Just in case I would recommend you to check the configuration of the caching in case there are any firewall rules that may affect the results.

As much as I would like to assist you, such issues related to the functionality and setup of the site or any third-party element (like a plugin or theme) are out of the scope of the support we offer.

    I reverted with the following:

    Just wanted to say that Cloudflare does only the DNSing and it is on pause. So there are not firewall rules etc. However, I will check just in case.

Just to let you know that following the advice of your technician in the original ticket I had run the following commands in WP CLI:
wp cron event delete rocket_rucss_job_check_status
wp cron event delete action_scheduler_run_queue_rucss 

and I am wondering if this is the root of the problem
