• Prior to 5.5 I used to use the page number to create a virtual page and then edit the contents via PHP.

However, the udpate happened and now when I try to visit a URL with a page number, it redirects to the main page, rendering my website completely unusable.

This has happened on several sites that all work the same way. Can someone help me identify what’s caused this and how I can get rid of it and fix it?

What’s the best way to talk to WordPress devs?

  • I don’t understand what you mean about a virtual page, but the fixes for several issues in 5.5 are in 5.5.1, which is in Release Candidate stage right now.

    WordPress 5.5.1 RC1

You can use the Beta Tester plugin to update to that and see if your issue is fixed.
If not, you can use the WP Downgrade plugin to go back to 5.4 or whatever version you had, while you figure out what changed.
You can search in core Trac for the issue, and write it up if no one has yet.
