update to 4.9 and 4.9.1 doesnt work

  • 1. Automatic updates succeds saying I am updated to 4.9.1 but update screen says Welcome to 4.8.3. and Update screen suggests 4.9.1 update again.
    2. Tried to update manualy by disabling all plugins, removing core files and then reactivating after upgrade and same thing (it still says that I need to update to 4.9.1).

    I`m using varnish cache, purged it before and after upgrade.

  • Try switching to a twenty* theme and see if upgrade completes…

    Although I do not know all you have as far as plugins, php settings, etc but disabling all plugins is a good start. If that does not resolve it I would suggest downloading a copy of the WP 4.9.1 and manually upload those files via FTP. I had one job yesterday that for something reason did not and could not upload 3 files in the wp-includes folder. It’s a rarity but it has happened before.

    @jaycbrf Does it matters even if I upgrade manually via ftp?

    @tkgnewseed Already tried manually and with wp-cli, same thing.
