When I clicked update theme my whole site just disappeared. There is just a text saying that there is a critical fail.

I got a mail from WordPress 5.2 saying that I can use a link to fix the problem, but I have no idea how to do that. I don’t and can’t code. I just use the buttons. And the link only works one day.

What must I do to be able to open my site again?

Here are some details, that you might need:
    WordPress-version 5.4
    Current tema: Responsive (version 4.2.4)
    Current plugin: (version )
    PHP version 7.0.33

    Details about error

I have now rolled back to an older theme, but now I don’t dare to update the theme again…

    Hi @naomihagelberg

These kinds of messages usually pop up after an update, and it means that some of our files are missing from your server. As you’re using 4.2.3, can you try updating to 4.2.4 (the latest version) wait till the process complete see if that helps?
The update should put all files back and that should fix your problem.

If you are still facing any issue please raise a ticket for the same from the cyberchimps site.

    Thank you

    I happened when I updated to 4.2.4.
    I don’t have a problem with 4.2.3.

It’s fine if you stay with Responsive theme v4.2.3
