Update to 4.06 (free version) – confusion about setup wizard

    Hello,

    I have just updated to the new plugin version from 3.71 (free version).

    Do I have to run the setup wizard? I am afraid of it as it might overwrite some of my earlier settings. There is no guide for users in this respect, I am clueless!

    Others have mentioned a database upgrade, too. Is it at the end of the setup process?

    This whole new experience is very confusing with trying to sell all these Pro features. The new plugin looks more like a bloatware and a clear step back from the earlier version.

    Hey @weigertj,

    You don’t have to run the setup wizard if you were already using the plugin on your website. It’s mainly meant for websites where the plugin is installed for the first time and it allows you to quickly configure the most important settings.

    Also, the database upgrade is triggered immediately after you update. It might take a while to complete depending on how large your website is, but in the meanwhile, the plugin falls back to your old data so everything continues to work as it should.

    thanks for the information! My database is not huge, that’s why I haven’t noticed anything, then.
