Update to 0.15.2 slow down my site
-
After updated to 0.15.2 version, my site goes down to 12 seconds after cleared cache and make new cache, so I disabled W3TC and site load in 3-4 seconds. Any suggestions?

Hello @adidoro
Thank you for your inquiry and I am happy to assist you with this.
Without checking and testing your website while W3 Total Cache is installed I cannot suggest anything.
If you tested the website mediately after purging the cache, possibly TTFB was increased for a moment due to the fact that purging the cache may increase server usage.
You should perform 2- tests to make sure that it’s not a temp issue.
I’ve tested your website on Gtmetrix and here are the results:
https://gtmetrix.com/reports/shop.adidoro.ro/aRMFb2ml
Please re-install W3 Total cache, enable Page Cache and Browser Cache, save all settings, purge the cache and let me know we it’s done so we can test again.
Thanks!Hi Marko
I disabled plugins because is my live shop, I cant leave it to load in 12 sec.
gtmetrix is not relevant for me, the shop is for my country, and server in Bucharest, locally the site is fast enough and on pingdom from with Germany located server I had 1,20 seconds before today update.
Now I made for you temp login for test site where I have same site with your plugin enabled, please check with user marko, pass marko9789, I can not leave this credentials for long time, site is athttps://test.adidoro.ro/
.Now check back to original site, I have downgrade W3TC to version 0.15.1 and is all good. About time to refresh cached pages is not applicable, I have a cron to flush and make all the cache at 24 hours and of course I can run it any time I need it.
Page cache is also set to expire at 24 hours, little longer, because anyway it will be flushed by cron before make a new set of cache. So the problem I think is in the new updated version of W3TC.
And here is the result https://tools.pingdom.com/#5d6f42171c000000- This reply was modified 4 years ago by adidoro.
Hello @adidoro
Did you perform tests on your live website or testing website?
Can you please disable W3 Total Cache on the test website so I can see the results?
Thanks!Hi Marko
W3TC deactivated on test site, please check.
My initial test was made on live site, then I deactivated plugin.- This reply was modified 4 years ago by adidoro.
Hello @adidoro
Thank you for the information. I would recommend enabling W3 Total Cache to disable all settings in Performance>General setting, save all settings, and purge the cache.
Then, start with Page Cache, enable it, save all settings, and purge the cache. Test the performance. Then Go with Browser Cache. Same thing.
Make sure to disable Prevent caching of objects after settings change in Browser Cache settings and enable the following in Performance>Browser Cache>General:
Set the Last-Modified header.
Set expires header
Set cache control header
Set entity tag (ETag)
Enable HTTP (gzip) compressionGo one setting at a time and test the performance. Then you can use the same settings on the live websites.
THanks!Hello @adidoro
Just a follow-up. I have updated W3 Total Cache to the latest 0.15.2 version and the websites are still getting the same score.
Please make sure to re-configure the plugin and/or try to completely remove it from the testing environment, and start the configuration from the top.
Thanks!Hi Marko,
I`ll do that and see if that helps, for now on live site I will leave it to previous version as it works without problems.
Hello @adidoro
Thank you for the info. Please let me know how it goes.
Thanks!Hi Marko,
I enabled all one by one and had no problem until I enabled Minify.
Exactly not matter if only js or css or both enabled causes problems.
And also no matter if are combine only or combine & minify, also causes problems.
If they are minify only it goes huge, page load is 56 seconds and CPU goes to 100%.
hope that helps…Anyone who think they don`t have this problem please go to webmaster tools in your browser -> network, check disable cache on webmaster tools and reload the page…
I can`t think I am the only one with this problem.- This reply was modified 4 years ago by adidoro.
Hello @adidoro
Thank you for the information.
The combine&minify option is default and it’s the same as in the previous version.
The main problem here is that I cannot see anything at the moment. So it would be great if you could re-enable minify, save all settings and purge the cache and remove the HTTP Authentication for testing purposes so I can see how the website behaves.
Thanks! All right, but I will not keep this longer because google start to crawl the site as soon as it can reach it, if you can do it ASAP please.
Enabled combine&minify.
Disabled Authentication.I think I know where problem come from.
If I disable cache on browser webmaster tools and reload the page, it will make another sets of minify css and js every time i reload the page and minify folder keep growing.
Hope that helps.
Edit: Now it`s not growing anymore but update css and js file at every load.
Edit 2: And CPU again is at 100%.Hello @adidoro
Thank you for the information.
Can you please disable the option “Prevent caching of objects after settings change” in Performance>Browser Cache>CSS&JS section, save all settings and purge the cache?
Thanks!
