Update stopped, website is in maintenance mode

I tried to update the Yoast plugin but the update stopped. Refreshing the page shows me the ‘this site is in maintenance’-page, so I can’t get back into the WordPress console. Can I manually delete the plugin in the file manager and reinstall? Or is there something else I can do to get the site working again?
