update seo title and meta description programmaticly

Hey
I am importing categories and products from an external database trough my own plugin – into wordpress and woocommerce.

However I am using Yoast SEO. But cant seem to figure out how I can set the Yoast SEO title and Meta description, for the product categories?

I have found the value in “wp_yoast_indexable”, but if I update the title column, it only reflects on the webpage, not on the category edit page in the admin. So it must not be the right place to do it.

Isnt there some sort of “yoast update term meta” function or something I can use?
