Update put web site in maintenance mode and stays like that forever

  • Starting before 1 od 2 weeks (4.4.1) i have problem with update of this plugin – When i try to update trough administration panel of my multi-site it starts putting web site in maintenance mode but that’s all – Nothing else is happening and that update simply didn’t finish few times i try to update this plugin – Now i am on 4.4.2 and for all other plugins everything is fine as it was earlier – I updated all other plugins and all is working, only this don’t work – Can i manually update it overwriting it on server or by deleting it and then unpacking zip archive at same place
    I don’t want to lose my comments and rest of settings regarding comments from my web site – I suppose all settings are in database and not in a folder but it is better to ask and not to make a mistake – If i must pay some specific procedure, than i will be thankful somebody explain step by step – Simply i will not like to lose all comments and i am very careful because of that

    Please delete wpdiscuz plugin folder manually, then go to dashboard and install the latest version, then go to wpDiscuz Settings > Show/Hide Tab, find “Captcha generation type” option and set it “use wordpress session”. Then delete all caches.

    That will not touch my comments or settings regarding how i set up discuss? – Am i right? I will lose much time making all those again and i don’t want to!

    Thanks for reply, but what is problem which manifest like i explain? – Those sessions? Can i make changes now and then try again to update or nor? I didn’t mention – My comments work quite well even now – If i make those changes first and then try to update will everything be ok or no?
    Last – where i can clear my cache – You mean from this plugin or regarding whole WP installation or i must use some “plugin” to clear all those cache?

    All configurations will stay the same, if those are not made in wpDiscuz core files. I meant WordPress cache (if you have a cache plugin).
