  • Even I’m getting the same error. It was working fine earlier. When I go into the plugin and when I click manage connection, it leads me to a FB page which says “Error on managing Facebook Business Extension
Please set up Facebook Business Extension first before managing settings”

    Hey @gevcen & @thesfboy ,

Thank you very much for reaching out to us. Happy to help with your questions!

@thesfboy : I’ll need to ask you to create a new topic for further assistance. It’s against the forum’s guidelines replying in an active thread if you are not the topic creator. You can find more information about the guidelines here.

If you’d like to start your own topic, you can do it by clicking here.

@gevcen : Thank you very much for providing me with more information about the said error. In order to further investigate, would it be possible to let me know if you have any out of stock products in your WooCommerce store? It’s possible that this error is caused when our plugin is trying to sync the out of stock products, but they won’t be synced based on the setup you’re currently using.

    Looking forward to your response.

Yes I have products that are currently out of stock in my store (not many but yes I have). However, the product that I updated and that showed the error was NOT in a status out of stock.

    Hey @gevcen ,

Thank you very much for confirming this for me and for providing me with more information.

Would it be possible to also navigate at WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory and let me know if the ‘Out of stock visibility’ setting is enabled?

I’m sorry for asking for more clarifications, however, it’s possible that this error is connected to that specific setting. Due to out of stock products still being added to the Facebook Shop’s product catalog (but with different visibility than the rest of the products), it’s possible that the error you’ve encountered is just a warning that shouldn’t cause any issues.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Yes it’s enabled

    Hey @gevcen ,

Thanks so much for confirming this for me. This setting means that it won’t sync products that are out of stock in your catalog. This can cause this error because our plugin, when trying to sync the products, won’t be able to verify that this product is in the catalog.

That being said, you’ve mentioned that the product that generated that error wasn’t out of stock. Does that mean that it was also synced in your Facebook Shop? Have you encountered any products missing as well?

    Looking forward to your response.

I didn’t check and I’m not expecting to start checking the Facebook catalogue everytime I update a product in my woocommerce, sorry.

Sorry I can’t keep following up this issue, I run a business, you are aware that there’s somethign wrong, other people have also this problem, please investigate, thanks

I’ve just updated a product, the error appears again but this particular product which I updated is not out of stock, and the update of price (which is the update that I made) is correctly appearing in facebook catalogue surprizingly.

    Hey @gevcen ,

Thank you very much for your response and I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you here. I really appreciate your patience.

I’d like to apologize for any confusion caused. I fully understand that this warning message shouldn’t appear for in-stock messages, however, I had to first confirm that these are the same settings that could cause that warning.

Also, since the update you made did appear on your Facebook shop, it’s possible that this isn’t an actual error with the sync of you products. In order to better understand if that’s the case, would it be possible to let me know if you’ve ever deleted any of the affected products from your Facebook shop manually?

    Looking forward to your response.

    Hi,

I never delete products (unless they are draft, which also didn’t occur in long time). If a product is not available anymore, I usually just set them to out of stock, but I don’t delete.

    Kr

    Hey @gevcen ,

Thank you very much for confirming this for me.

Our plugin will delete products from your Facebook Shop when set out of stock. Then, it’ll attempt to retrieve the product first as a fail safe to make sure it gets deleted it if does exist, which could have caused this experience. However, since this product is in stock, and since you’ve mentioned that there’s a chance that you’ve set a product as out of stock (which would have deleted it), would it be possible to navigate to one of the affected products and click to edit it?

On the right side, you’ll see a Facebook window. Would it be possible to click on the “Reset Facebook data” option and then on the Update button? You don’t need to make any changes on the product, just click on that option which will force Facebook to recollect the product’s metadata, thus syncing to the latest status of the product catalog.

Would you please let me know if the notification persists after doing that?

    Looking forward to your response.

Ok the next time I see the error message appearing, I’ll check what you said and let you know here.

I just had a product where the error message appeared.

I did what you said, I clicked on “reset facebook metadata” then updated product, and the error message disappeared.

SOLUTION : you should always perform a “reset facebook metadata” automatically upon updating product in woocommerce!

    Hey @gevcen ,

Thanks so much for confirming this for me! Resetting the “Facebook metadata” is a good advice when your products get out of stock – or setting them as out of stock is part of your process like in your case- as our plugin will delete out of stock items from your Facebook shop.

When you set them as “in stock” again, our plugin will sync them as expected, but because the metadata haven’t been updated at the same time, it can cause this error. ??

I went ahead and made this quick summary in case this is helpful for another merchant too. I’ve also taken a note for our team to take a closer look on the back-end to see if we can improve this process. In the meantime, I’m going to mark this topic as resolved.

Don’t hesitate to create a new topic if you have more questions or encounter any other issues.

I hope you have an excellent rest of the day.

Hi, the last reply here was a month ago. Has something been done in the meantime to fix this issue? Because I have the same problems, any time I update a product. All of them are in stock.
Will you implement an auto-reset for the meta data to avoid this errors or not?
If there is no global help coming up to fix that problem, I need to create a new topic.
    Thank you.
