Updated on two sites, killed both sites with a white screen / 500 error. Working to restore sites now, which are still down, despite having deleted the plugin.

I should add that rolling back to the latest version doesn’t fix it ??

In that case, it seems likely to be something other than WP-O, because returning to the previous version brings your site into exactly the same state as it was before. (There are no DB operations upon upgrade, so, restoring the files restores everything). If you turn on WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php file and visit the page, WP should then show an error. What is the error shown? (Or, look in your PHP error log).

Well by rolling back I mean I deleted the wp-optimize folder using ftp and uploaded an earlier version.

Yes, that’s what I was talking about too. If you do that, then your site is in the precise same state as before… so, if there’s still an error, then something else is the cause. (Or something was done wrongly on the rollback). But either way, the best next step is to try to get the actual error content (via WP_DEBUG or the PHP error log).

Do you get the same issue with the just-released WP-O 2.3.2? (And if so, what is the logged error message?)

Are you on WP-Engine? We’ve seen a potentially similar report from a WP-Engine user.
