Update problems with cron jobs
-
Hi –
I am having difficulty with updates for Feedwordpress.
I have set up a cron job in order to ping for the Feedwordpress updates. The pings are scheduled twice per hour.
In addition, I have scheduled the polling to occur every 30 minutes. (All of the feeds come from my own website, so there is no issue with this.)
However, some feeds do not update timely. It is inconsistent — some feeds update properly, but others can go for hours without a polling/feed check being run.
The messages are also not consistent with the 30-minute polling interval. For example, I have several feeds that have messages such as “Last checked 2 hours ago. Ready and waiting to be updated since 45 mins ago” So not only is the feed not updating, but it also doesn’t seem to recognize that I have selected the 30-minute polling interval. (In this example, I would have expected a feed that was checked two hours earlier to have been ready for 90 minutes, not 45.)
The Feedwordpress screen in the WordPress dashboard indicates that the ping was received, so it is obvious that the ping is getting from my server to the website. Some of the feeds aren’t responding for reasons unknown to me.
Any help would be appreciated. Although the feeds will update manually, I need to automate the process.
Thanks.
