Update problems: Help requested

  • I just updated to the latest release of WP and now I cannot access my admin panel.

    What do I do?

    I get this error message now when trying to access the admin area

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_IF in /home/content/31/11908331/html/wp-admin/admin.php on line 34

    The website still works fine at https://www.uswcastlegar.com

    I found the issue. A semi-colon was missing on the end of a line above line 34.

    How can this happen with an update to WP?
