“update post” in acf extended, generates also a new post

Also I am using elementor, theme is “yootheme”, function.php uses some filter and some “hooks”, but I removed some of them to see (which have influence on the post type), but nothing has changed.

I suspect Elementor being the problem. There was a similar compatibility problem with Elementor + Yoast few months ago, I created an issue on Elementor github here: https://github.com/elementor/elementor/issues/10998

You probably display the form using a shortcode right? I’ll run some test with WP + ACF + ACF Extended + Elementor later see if I can reproduce the problem.

Yes, I use the shortcode.

Example:

user will be registered, it sets automatically a post type item in a individual post type and the user can change the information in the frontend of his post type item. I think you’re right about elementor. you should build a widget for elementor, would be fantastic, your work is great. I would pay for this widget. :))

The fix is already included in ACF Extended, in the file /acf-extended/includes/modules/form/actions/post.php line:304. However it is only applied for Post Creation, not Post Update. Post Update should not create any new post. You’re using [acfe_form] shortcode right?

I just tested on WP + ACF + ACF Extended + Elementor Free + Blank theme, and everything works fine.

The page is updated correctly, and no other post or page is created in the process.
