• I just upgraded a site from an old version (2.1x) to 2.8.4

All is going well, except for the many character entity issues that I am trying to fix.

Oddly, in some posts, when I add tags (something that didn’t exist in the previous version used) in conjunction with making said edits, then click the Update Post button, I get the dialog about leaving this post will cause me to lose my edits.

Huh? I *AM* clicking the Update Post button… not leaving the post. ????

Anyone else seen this? Any ideas what is going on?

    Additional update:

I’ve tried using the Quick Edit feature to add the tags before editing the content for character entity issues, adding one tag and then clicking the update button in the Quick Edit mode… note that I filtered the posts for just the one category to make it easier.

All appeared to work. BUT, after editing a post for character issues, I had to return to Edit Posts (the unfiltered list) and re-filter to that category…

And all the tags were missing EXCEPT the one I did from the actual Edit>Posts page…. all Quick Edit tags added were gone!

Anyone seen this or know if it’s a known bug?

  • Hi,

    Check with these options:

-> Disable all the plugins and enable it one by one
-> upgrade your wordpress database and repair it
-> reassign all the permissions to wordpress database user
-> remove all unwanted codes from htaccess of your blog

    Thanks,

    Shane G.
