Hello. We don′t have stock management. A product is either in stock or out of stock. When a product is marked from in stock to out of stock, would it be possible to automatically change the orders that contain this product? So for example we have 200 pending/on hold orders. 50 orders contain the item “apples”. When apples are marked out of stock, automatically this item is removed from the 50 orders. That way we don′t manually have to go through all 50 orders and remove the items, that have gone out of stock. Can something like this be done?

    Hi there,

Just to make sure: Why would you change order line-items for orders where the customer has already paid for their goods? If the goods were in stock at the time of purchase, it would be up to the store owner to deliver those goods OR to provide a refund (instead of just deleting the line items which could be seen as fraud).

Hello @riaanknoetze , Thank you for your answer. I should have given more information. This is used on a site which is sort of a community market of organic products, connecting a big group of local buyers to a group of local suppliers. Only “members” can make a purchase, and the payment is cash on delivery or banktransfer after delivery. Because delivery/pick-up is always once a week, on Friday, when a purchase is made a few days before, it is possible that one of the supplier on Thursday realizes for example the harvest was not as good. In general not all the suppliers have the technology to update their stock in the system. And the admin is only one person , for whom it would be a lot of work to update all the orders manually.

But I would be happy to make the line-items either set to price $0, if that is easier. But removing them would be best (since nobody paid yet). I hope that makes sense. This is the link to the staging site, with just a few test products, there will be about 500 products: https://consumoconsciente.belsymon.com.

    Hi there!

Thanks for the clarification, I now understand your request better.

While there′s not an out of the box way of doing this you could achieve this functionality with custom code. We highly recommend contacting one of the services on our Customizations page for that.

I hope this helps you in the right direction and so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Cheers!
