When trying to update plugin from 1.16.14 to 1.16.15 version site goes into maintenance mode and stays there.

    (from plugin update page)

The update process is starting. This process may take a while on some hosts, so please be patient.

    Enabling Maintenance mode…
    Updating Plugin UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore (1/1)

    (nothing happens after)

    What could be the cause?

  • Do you have acces to the server? (Cpanel)?
    1) LOGIN TO C PANEL
    2) ENTER YOUR PUBLIC HTML DIRECTORY
    3) GO TO SETTINGS (UPPER RIGHT CORNER)
    4) SHOW HIDDEN DIRECTORIES (OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT)
    5) GO TO PUBLIC HTML .MAINETANCE
    6) REMOVE .MAINENANCE (REFRESH YOUR SITE)

    TRY AGAIN ??

    Hi,

Best solution would be to install the plugin via FTP.
To do this, download a fresh copy of the plugin, unzip and upload to ‘wp-content/plugins’ so it becomes ‘wp-content/plugins/updraftplus’. After upload you should then be able to activate the plugin from your WP dashboard.

    Bryle
