Update not shown in Dashboard

Update:
After I rename the folder and uploaded the new version, the old version is showing me the update available:

This behavior happened on both sites (they have a very similar setup).

This isn’t normal behavior, but could you explain what the plugin folder name was before you had renamed it. Also, what did you rename it to for it to then show the update?

My first assumption is that this could be perhaps a permissions issue, but also if the plugin folder is renamed to something non-default it might cause issues checking for updates. Thanks for any additional information you can provide!

The folder name was the original:
woocommerce-gateway-stripe
I renamed with:
woocommerce-gateway-stripe.o

And the update showed up.
I also suspected a permission issue, if nobody else reported this problem I guess we can close the ticket.

It’s just unfortunate because we stayed on a version without SCA support for too long :/

That is odd indeed! With the default folder name it should’ve found the update, but it does definitely seem like a permission issue. Maybe the plugin was installed from a computer via FTP, and said computer applied odd permission files to the Stripe folder?

Again I’m sorry that happened for you and kept you from getting your site updated and SCA compliant. At least it is up to date now.
