    Hello!

I’m writing you this email in order to understand if it’s possible to change the ‘plugin-details’ manually without updating the app package with a newer version.

If yes, what’s the procedure to follow? I didn’t find any info on this topic

Thank you and have a nice day

  • What exactly do you want to update? The description? The shown name?

Personally, I wouldn’t change anything else because it’s dangerous to change e.g. a version number. Because if it gets a security update or something, the auto-update and such wouldn’t do their job correctly and it can cause confusion.

    Hello Pieterjan,

Thanks for you answer! I’m trying to change the product description (prices and texts you see on the wp market) since I need to.

Is there a way to do it? It has nothing to do with the Plugin itself (version or name)

Ah, then I’m not the correct person to help. It’s about WooCommerce or something like that?

Yes it is, here’s the plugin link just to make you understand the topic better.

    Hello @nekojonez!
I’ve finally updated all the changelog infos with a newer version (2.1.3)
Every file was upgraded with the version 2.1.3, but still on WooCommerce page the version didn’t change.
I’ve pushed every change on gitHub, and with Visual Studio Code I can’t find the 2.1.2 version where the ‘latest version’ is shown.

What it can be? Thanks in advance for the feedback

I’m not a developer and have never created a plugin before… I’m just good at googling ??

The Field Details section of the plugin Readme documentation has this:

Version: Version field from the plugin header.

So it seems this is being fetched from the main plugin file’s header, and not from the readme.txt file.

And, indeed, I can see your plugin’s file woo-satispay.php has Version: 2.1.2 in the header.

    Hi @gappiah
I’ve noticed it, unfortunately I’m not able to upgrade the package with the new file. I think I’ll need to delete the release, any suggestions on how to do that?
