    Hi,

The zerif lite theme displayed a notification that it had an update available, so I updated it. Then when it said it finished updating, I activated it. Then everything loaded blank, none of my pages work or load up. Everything loads up a blank white screen and now I am talking to my hosting provider support agents who are telling me that the update and the theme is broken and killed the site. They are in the process of trying to reverse this and fix it.

Why would the update be released if it is broken and kills the site? What is going on??

    thanks

  • Your site shows the current (fixed) version now, so sounds like it did get updated.

    Thanks WPYog.

I fixed the customiser.php file myself this afternoon, but what I don’t understand is whether the zerif files on my site get updated somehow without my knowledge, i.e. how did the problem creep in, in the first place? I assumed that the code would remain static until I uploaded a new version of the theme myself. Maybe the bug had been there for ages but for some reason only manifested itself today.

I am new to wordpress and creating websites. Can someone please assist me in this process. I do not know what a FTP nor do I know how to access it. My site is still down and has been for a week. I’ll take any advice.

    Nevermind. I figured it out.
