The latest version of the plugin caused a critical error. I had to restore a backup as a quick fix so that I can look into it in more details later. Are you aware of any issues?

    Hello @gs1623

I am sorry about the issue you experienced.

There were no issues of this kind reported after the latest release. This is most likely a temporary network hiccup that occurred mid-update and some files were not updated/transferred.

Make sure to backup the master.php file and try to re-install the W3 Total Cache.
Let me know if you continue to experience problems and also please let me know if there are any error messages in the debug log.

    Thanks!

Thanks for your response. No problem. I’m setting up a staging copy as we speak, and I’m going to try installing the update again.

Update: I have just updated several plugins on my staging area. I followed the same order as the first time, and everything went smoothly. No issues this time, so it was probably a temporary hiccup, as you mentioned. I did switch browser tabs while the update was running, so that could have played a part; who knows. All sorted now, thank you.
