I am just wondering what triggers the automatic update or if it should happen immediately after installing, configuring and saving? If it is supposed to just happen immediately, for some reason it isn’t working for me. If it is supposed to happen at some later time, providing at least a brief mention of this in the plugin description, readme or settings area would probably be appreciated by some users.

Appreciate the time you have taken to create this for everyone.

    Cheers!

The Plugin doesn’t modify the core update behavior or timing; it merely tells core that it can or cannot perform the specified updates.

The timing is based on transients within core itself, that determine when the update routine actually gets fired. I’ll add some wording to the FAQ in the readme, though. Good suggestion.

Just FYI: looks like core updates could take up to 36 hours to fire automatically after first receiving the upgrade notice. This first one is being intentionally slow-rolled, but should be faster in the future.

That clarifies things for me. Thank you!
