update in affinity theme – child-theme broken

  • My child-theme suddenly broke, so that if it’s activated I can’t log in to wp-admin. I assume this can have many reasons, but do you know where I should start? Was there an update on affinity theme that could be messing with my files?

  • Are you seeing any specific errors when you activate the child theme? They might help you track down the source.

    If not, I’d recommend creating a new child theme and copying the different templates/functions in from the old child theme one at a time, refreshing your dashboard along the way.

    When it breaks, you’ll know which code is to blame!

    Follow up questions/info:

    WordPress 4.7 just came out, have you already updated to that?

    Was there an update on affinity theme that could be messing with my files?

    Affinity’s last update was on November 5th, so that probably isn’t the issue if it’s just started giving you trouble ??
